1 Guitar, 1 Man And -2 Degrees

Have you ever just seen something and gone I wonder what the story is there

Because you look at it and know there must be something going on

There must be a tale to be told

So I was driving to the gym at an ungodly hour as per usual, but you know there is something peaceful about that time

When I noticed this guy walking down the street in shorts and shorts.

Now I’m more immune to the cold than most, but at this point I was wearing trackies and a jumper, because it had snowed that weekend.

So this caught my eye and I slowed down, and then I noticed that he is also carrying a guitar.

It is -2 outside not including the wind and here is this man, just casually out and about with not a care in the world.

And I just sat there and thought, how often do we stop and just be there. With no stress about where to go next, or this needs to be done, or wondering what others think about us.

Now I could be completely wrong and he could have been the most stressed man in the world.

But in this moment he looked completely at peace.

And this is one of the aspects that when it comes to feeling better, improving health and even losing body fat that we over look.

It is as simple as reducing your stress.

Now I say as simple as, but we all know that it isn’t as easy going I am no longer stressed is it.

No, but there are things that we can do to reduce the amount of stress we have or at least the impact it has.

Now I am going to sound all hippy on you today,

But that’s ok because the amount of research that has been poured into this field, greatly overrides the hippy background.

Not to mention if you look at most successful people in this world, they practice this daily.

So what am I referring to?

I am talking about meditation!

This has made a massive influx into mainstream culture as of late.

Many celebraties practice it on a regular basis.

So today I want to keep it simple as possible.

Guaranteed that your mind will wander, and get distracted.

And thats ok, just bring it back to the centre and try and focus on what you are doing.

This is a very basic one to just relax the mind and the body.

You can do guided, but I find this version quicker and simpler to do when you have a couple of minutes spare.

So all you do is sit comfortably, close your eyes and take slow deep breathes. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

And count your breathes, count all the way to ten and then start again.

Repeat this for as long as you have time, 5-10 minutes is usually a good time period, but even if it is only 2 minutes, thats still going to help.

And each time you get distracted just gently bring your mind back to your breathing.

This will calm the mind and the body and greatly reduce the oxidative stress on the body (which can cause more fat to be stored)

Other things you can also add in are things like exercise, and dedicated time for you.
