12 Energy Tips You Need in Your Life [Pt. 3]

Welcome back to the mystical truths behind energy…

Well maybe not, but I am going to give you some things that may seem a little odd.

But often it is those simple oddball ones that will make the difference.

That’s why I saved them for last.

And they will be an excellent relief after the full on components of part 2…

So let’s get stuck in shall we?

Amazing Energy Boosting Tip #9

Did you know that a significant factor of fatigue and sluggishness is stress related?

Now in preparation for this article, I was looking at what others were saying to compare notes.

Most of them went something along the lines of just take a load off and don’t stress as much.

And I was like, ‘amazing you have just solved all my issues!’


It isn’t that simple.

Is it?

So now, I am not saying I have the be all or end all for dealing with your stress.

But it is one hell of a step in the right direction.

Now that answer is…


I can’t rate meditation high enough for you.

Not only will doing it help reduce your stress levels, but It will also contribute to boosting your energy straight away because it is like a mini nap.

Plus a whole school of benefits that I could go into, but that is a whole different blog and will be coming in the next few weeks.

So you will just have to keep checking in for that one.

In the mean time download, an app like headspace is excellent introduction and place to begin.

Adding in 5+ minutes a day especially in the arvo will help reduce stress and give your evening a boost.

Amazing Energy Boosting Tip #10

Just breathe.

You heard me.

Stop and breathe.

Now I’m sure you are saying…

“Come on now Lachlan. Of course, I am breathing!”

But there is a difference between just breathing and breathing with purpose.

Getting proper oxygen into our bodies will help give us a surge of energy.

And it only takes a few moments to do.

What I want you to do is, take a deep breath in through your nose for the count of 4-8 (depending on how much experience you have with this, I would always start with 4.)

Hold for 4-8 seconds and then breathe out for 4-8 seconds.

Whatever tempo you choose to stick with that throughout until the next time.

Now, this simple practice will help boost your oxygen levels, and relax the body in an energy giving way.

The other benefit is that it will actually increase your willpower.

Now that’s a hell of an extra bonus, isn’t it?

I aim to do this every day, but especially when I am feeling tired or post workout.

This is a great little pick me up that you can do anywhere anytime.

Amazing Energy Boosting Tip #11

Now, this one is an obvious one, but I am still going to chuck it out there.

Well basically because it is still so crucial.

And that is…


Obviously, the quality and quantity of your sleep is going to be important and significantly impact your energy levels.

Now I am not going to give away all my secrets because in the coming weeks I am going to do a full week on how to improve your sleep.

So absolutely keep your eyes open for that.

But for today some of the basic methods you can use are as follows — going to bed and getting up at the same time 99% of the time, removing all screens at least an hour before bed, having a hot shower before bed, blocking out all light while you sleep.

The list goes on, as I said there will be a whole week devoted to it.

But that should be enough to get you started.

Amazing Energy Boosting Tip #12

Now we are down to a final tip for this week…

I know, it’s sad.

But don’t worry, I will be back next week with more amazing things for you.

To finish off on things that are going to give you that up and go every single day, I think this one will be a crowd pleaser.

Because if you are anything like so many of the amazing women I have worked with, you always put yourself last.

Everyone else always comes first.

And for this I commend you.

But one of the things I have learnt in my own life and from witnessing so many others is that you have to put yourself first to be able to look after everyone else effectively.

So keep that in mind, it will be something that I will be talking about in more detail over the coming weeks.

But what you will need for this one is some time to yourself, a foot bath, some Epsom salts and hot water.

And simply sit and soak away the stress of a long day, week or month.

Honestly, this will help more than you could imagine, especially if you get a good book and kick back and relax with it.

It will help draw out toxins, assist the body to relax and de-stress which in turn will boost your energy.

So my very serious prescription is find the time even if it is only 20 minutes and make this happen once a week.

You can thank me later.
