The Monster Under The Bed
May 20, 2016
This is often urban legend for kids
The monster under the bed or in the cupboard
Hell there is a movie about it
But as we grow up, we move on from this and we no longer need to check to see if there is anything hiding under our bed
But the problem is that there is still monster’s they just form in other places
We need to check our mind for the monsters that are hiding there
And often they come in the form of fear
This is the monster that holds you back
It stops you from doing the things that you want or know you should do
It’s greatest weapon is excuses and this is how we recognize the monster
We can always find an excuse not to do something, there are endless supply of them
And these excuses can cripple, can stop you taking the plunge into something that you know is good for you or something that will make a lasting impact on your life
Yes fear can be justifiable, but it doesn’t mean it’s right
In fact it often means that you won’t do the thing that could fix your fear
But just like when you where a kid and you where afraid of the monster the best way to deal with it, is to stand up look it square in the face and say I am not afraid of you
This takes courage and something more than just giving into your excuses
But the reward on the other side is freedom and often something wonderful
So stand up to your monster today, put aside all the reasons as to why not and say yes to all the things that are spurring you on.
It will be the best decision you have made this week, nah this month, I’d even go as far as this year, maybe more depending on who you ask.
Leigh said it has been 2 decades she had been fighting the “monster” in this case weight and she is now conquering it.
Are you ready?
Until next time,
